What made/inspired you decide to be a writer?
I have always been a storyteller. When I was a child, I used to make-up bedtime stories to tell my little sister before she went to sleep. I have been writing forever. I knew I always wanted to share my stories with the world because I wanted to inspire others and give them hope.
What inspires your writing?
I would say life inspires my writing. A lot of the events that occur in many books are loosely-based off of situations that I went through or people that were close to me went through. I like the idea of being able to take a situation in my life that I didn’t like the outcome and rewrite it to the result that I wanted.
What's the first thing you remember writing, and how old were you?
I would say around five years old was when I first started writing. When I was little, during summer break from school, my mom gave me a notebook to practice my writing. She would give me random topics and challenge me to write stories. My dad and I used to read books together when I was going up and it drew me into the world of fantasy. A lot of the first stories I wrote were based off of television series or books I enjoyed.
Do you need quiet or can you write anywhere?
I come from a talkative Italian family so I can write anywhere but I would prefer quiet.
How do you handle brain block?
This has been the most challenging thing for me as an author. I am still experimenting with different remedies. I still try to write even when I don’t have the inspiration. Many times I will set a timer and force myself to write for a certain amount of minutes.
If you could bring any character from any story from any time period to life, who would it be?
It would be Sapphora. She is the main character in my upcoming fantasy series. The first book is Shards of Secrecy. Sapphora is an Egyptian-Italian sorceress and princess who must embark on a quest to find a magical spellbook to defeat an ancient foe. I love this character because I see so much of myself in her and this has been a really fun series to write.
What made you want to write this particular piece?
I wanted to write Kiss of the Scorpio Moon because I have alway loved writing stories about sorcery and magic.
What can readers expect from your story?
In Kiss of the Scorpio Moon, readers can expect to find a lot of action, mystery, and adventure with a dash of romance.
For those readers who are new to you, what book should they start off with and why?
I am a new author. The only book I have published is my first novel Hickory Dickory Death. It is a gothic romance / gaslamp fantasy tale about revenge. I am hoping to have two more books published by the end of the year.
